We're a small, local exterior cleaning team based in Chelmsford. We clean render, roofs, driveways, patios, gutters and conservatories the careful way — and we're happy to explain exactly what we'll do before we start.
We live and work in Chelmsford, so we know the local housing stock well. We're regularly on jobs cleaning the 1930s pebbledash and painted render around Old Moulsham, where decades of weather and shade leave their mark, as well as the modern K-rend finishes on the newer estates in Beaulieu and Springfield. Different houses, different ages, different finishes — and they don't all want treating the same way.
That local knowledge matters more than people expect. A north-facing wall in a tree-lined street greens up far quicker than a sun-baked gable, and a soft, freshly applied K-rend needs a gentler touch than older, well-cured render. Because we see these properties week in and week out, we turn up already knowing roughly what we're looking at — which means a quicker assessment, a fairer price, and far less chance of an unwelcome surprise.
The single biggest thing that sets careful exterior cleaning apart is the method. On render and roofs we use softwashing — a low-pressure treatment that lifts algae, lichen and that tell-tale green and black staining without blasting the surface. High-pressure washing might look impressive for a minute, but on render it can strip the finish, force water behind the surface and leave you with a far bigger problem than the dirt you started with.
So we match the tool to the surface every time. Softwash for render, roofs and delicate coatings; controlled pressure and the right rotary kit for block paving, slabs and concrete; gentle hand-finishing for fascias, soffits and conservatory frames. It's slower and it takes a bit more thought, but it's the way to get a genuinely clean result that lasts — and that protects your property rather than damaging it.
We carry public liability insurance on every job, so you're covered from the moment we arrive. We also take free before and after photos as standard — partly because we're proud of the difference, and partly because it keeps us honest about the result we've delivered. If something isn't right, we'd rather you tell us and we put it back than walk away.
